Successful campaign should be applauded
Wednesday, 30 August 2006
SIR, I would once again have to  applaud Cllr Peter Johnston and other members of the SNP Group. For their Successful campaign and also their openness and accountability.

Having attended a number of Health And Care Committee meetings Chaired by Bruce Ferrie at West Lothian House. I witnessed the most undemocratic process one has ever seen. On One particular occasion at a public meeting Cllr Ferries opening address was “sit down I am in charge” While the leader of the council sat and chewed gum.

Mr. Ferrie what was so ambiguous about the following.

Community Care and Health (Scotland) Act 2002:

Details; Section 1 makes it quite clear that local authorities cannot charge for social care if it is personal care or support as defined in the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act

I would like to say its you that is ambiguous about legislation.

At one particular meeting Cllr Johnston advised the Labour Group of the illegal charging, advice they decided to pay no attention to.

Housing (Scotland) Act 1987

Another fine mess Would be the procedures by West Lothian Council regarding the Deans South housing situation does this not contravene a breach of Section 64 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987?

Any conditions imposed must be Reasonable and allow the purchaser the same freedom to use the property they enjoyed as tenants.

The Equal Pay Act

The Equal Pay Act has now been in operation for several years. West Lothian's council’s policy, partnership and resources committee has approved a new report which includes plans for a one-off equal pay compensation offer costing £8.4 million.

Stop blaming all and sundry, you're the one in receipt of the Brucie Bonus to the amount of £17,775.00. Hauteur comes to psyche with the Labour Cronies, and I believe its point in time Bruce’s price is right and his dolly dealers be ax. So Bruce cum on down.

Anyone got an old fridge?
Wednesday, 30 August 2006
SIR, This is an appeal to your readers.

Are any of you in possession of an old fridge you have no use for, Gerry Sweeny who works with open door (an organisation that helps find accommodation for young adults in West Lothian) is looking for a fridge or fridge freezer for one the students he is working with, it doesn’t have to be fancy as long as it works.

If you are replacing an old fridge, or have one in the garage you keep meaning to take to the dump, contact Gerry Sweeny through this website, he will be happy to collect it and it will go to a good cause.

This is recycling at its best, give an old fridge a few more years before it goes to the land fill site.

Martin Sweeny, (Craigswood)
